Hi everyone, we thought we would do a
quick check in to share how the impact that
incorporating self care into our routines has
made on our lives! When we first started this
blog, we said we would come along the journey
with you all. So, here we are, a bit more than
a month in and ready to reflect on our journey so far!
Jacie: Hi all! I have been pretty busy the past few weeks, I just got back from traveling to British Colombia and exploring what the West Coast has to offer. With that being said I have been getting tons of outdoor time which has done wonders for my personal mental health. People often forget how refreshing fresh air can be and this trip was a great reminder of that for me. I was able to see a bunch of places I have never been before like Banff and Lake Louise and was able to do lots of hiking! Now that I am back home I am excited for Christmas Holidays coming up and will be making a strong effort to get back into my normal routine. This time of year is usually a pretty difficult time for most, myself included, and to stay positive I am actively trying to remind myself about how fortunate I am and the opportunities I have had in my life so far. For every bad day I have, I remind myself how lucky I am to be healthy and to have friends and family that are healthy. When school sucks (sorry Queen's) I try to remind myself that people would kill to be in school. Putting things into perspective and reminding myself how important it is to be thankful works for me. With that in mind, I hope everyone is finding ways to cope with this time of year and as always thanks for joining Eva and I on our wellness journey!
Eva: Hey guys! So, through this blog I have been focusing a lot more on self care over the past month. Obviously every blog post we write requires us to practice self care, but I have also been making a more conscious effort to include self care activities in my everyday life. Not only have I been doing more healthy cooking, taking care of my body, but I have also been working on shifting my mindset and other self care activities. Overall, I feel myself being more productive and a little bit less stressed. I am currently in 4th year, so I always feel pretty stressed, but I feel like taking the time out of my day to take care of myself has allowed me to alleviate a bit of that stress. I have really just been focused on taking the time for myself and listening to my body, which has made a huge difference in my overall mental health. So, to sum it all up, I have found that incorporating self care into my routine has made a very positive impact on my life, and sharing my journey with you all has been amazing. Also, doing these self care activities alongside Jacie, and my other friends, has also been an awesome way to be social and take my mind of my stresses for a little bit. Once again, thank you all for being a part of Self Care Sundays with us :)
