Stretch-It-Out!

A simple activity you can do everyday to contribute towards living a healthier life is to stretch. Stretching is a simple task that takes very little time and effort and its so good for you!

Stretching is a great way to increase blood flow all through your body and by doing so it will increase blood flow to your brain, which is very beneficial for the strenuous schedule of a university student. I enjoy taking 30 minutes out of my Sunday's to take the time to stretch and unwind. What's great about stretching is that you can do this at your own pace, with music on, while watching TV, whatever goes!


Some of the stretches that I like to do every week include: butterfly stretch, single leg hamstring stretches, arm across body, and some shoulder stretches. There are lots of different stretches that you can do to fit your own personal needs. When stretching I generally hold each stretch for 10-20 seconds and do 2 rounds of each stretch.
